  1. Job Purpose

The job holder will be responsible for reviewing existing mechanical facilities and equipment within airports and/or preparing specifications for new systems.

  • Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Overseeing maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment and facilities in accordance with planned maintenance schedules, best practices and breakdown repairs;
  • Observing performance of the installed equipment/ facilities during the maintenance period as specified in the contract;
  • Preparing improvement and maintenance plans for electromechanical equipment and facilities to ensure continuous serviceability;
  • Preparing designs, tender specifications and bills of quantities for maintenance works and capital projects;
  • Designing electro-mechanical engineering facilities, status reports and action programmes to sustain / upgrade service standards;
  • Providing technical support to stakeholders and utility providers;
  • Overseeing adherence to the provisions of Occupational Health and Safety Act; and
  • Preparing budgets for electromechanical and mechanical and review the budgets when required.
  • Key Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Registration with Engineers Board of Kenya or the Institute of Engineers of Kenya
  • Minimum of eight (8) years relevant working experience with at least 3 years at a managerial/ supervisory level
  • Skills and Competencies

Teamwork, good communication, interpersonal, supervisory and analytical skills.

Terms and Conditions of Service                      

The Corporation Secretary and General Manager positions shall be for a three (3) year contract term renewable subject to satisfactory performance or attainment of mandatory retirement age whichever happens earlier. The other positions will be on permanent and pensionable terms as per the provisions of the Authority’s Human Resource Policy and Procedures Manual.

(ii) Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)

(iii) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)

(iv) Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-corruption Authority (EACC)

(v) Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

The clearance certificates should be valid and current.

The self-declaration Form from EACC should indicate the respective position that is being applied for.
