The Kenya Airports Authority and The Kenya Institute of Management are proud to announce the inaugural Aviation Business Excellence Awards (ABEA), in recognition of outstanding performance and excellent service delivery in the aviation industry. The Awards will seek to improve Customer Experience at JKIA while encouraging best practices within the industry.
During the launch of the awards held on Tuesday, KAA General Manager, Marketing and Business Development, Jimmy Kibati noted that the initiative is a continuation of partnerships and interactions that will bring aviation practitioners together and make Kenyan airports an example of service excellence in the region.
“In the spirit of the recently unveiled JKIA Service Charter which we all committed to, we pledge to double our efforts to ensure that the high standards of service delivery and professionalism promised between agencies becomes a reality,” Kibati added.
While giving his key note address during the event, KAA MD, Jonny Andersen noted that JKIA’s responsibility in service delivery has been raised higher after receiving the green light to fly directly to the US. This has necessitated the creation of ABEA awards that would support the objective of improving customer experience at our Airports.
“As one of the leading players in the aviation industry, we are pleased to be associated with ABEA awards as it will celebrate institutions and individuals who have demonstrated superior service in the aviation business,” Andersen added.
For transparency and credibility of the process, stakeholders will be vetted through a Business Assessment Tool that will evaluate their service delivery to customers. The tool will assess how the organizations inculcate the core themes of excellence.
ABEA Registration is now open and is scheduled to close on Monday, the 24th of September 2019. Airport stakeholders are encouraged to follow this link to download the ABEA registration form.
